The Founders of the Papillon Work Bee Honoured by the Sûreté du Québec
The Founders of the Papillon Work Bee, retired Officer Michel Doyon and retired Sergeant Jean-Marie Vézina, were honoured by the Sûreté du Québec on the occasion of a special ceremony. The Executive Director of the Sûreté du Québec, Mr. Normand Proulx, also paid a vibrant tribute to retired Sergeant Luc Juteau, to retired Officer Robert Martin, and to Sergeant Daniel Gagné, the other architects of this annual event who, throughout the past two decades, have called upon the admirable efforts of more than 6,000 volunteers.
In the photo, in the usual order: Luc Juteau, Michel Doyon, the Executive Director of the SQ – Normand Proulx, Robert Martin, Jean-Marie Vézina and Daniel Gagné.
The Optimiste Bee: what a boost!
Every year, at the beginning of May, the Optimiste Club holds its own work bee at Camp Papillon. More than 400 people gather in Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez to clean the many camp buildings, to rake the grounds and to carry out carpentry, electrical and plumbing tasks.
The Optimiste Work Bee is also the stage of annual inaugurations of chalets whose renovations are both funded and carried out by the members. Every year, one more milestone is passed towards the dream to renovate all the small chalets of Camp Papillon’s High-Town.
To all our volunteers, thank you!
