An unforgettable stay

At Camp Papillon, it is impossible to be bored! The animation specialists pilot our numerous sites, where many exceptional activities are adapted to the abilities of our campers: fishing, camping, swimming, drama, dancing, painting, astronomy, archery, soccer, pontoon boating, olympiads, hiking… Our counsellors will stop at nothing to make our campers’ stay unforgettable! They developed a wide ability of adaptation and can prepare activities to be enjoyed by adults and youngsters alike! Camp Papillon counsellors form a responsible team, attentive to our campers’ slightest needs. Staff members must have 60 hours of training before laying claim to the title of counsellor. In addition to the animation, the quality of physical care and safety are at the very heart of our concerns. Camp Papillon staff is also comprised of a medical team who is responsible for each camper’s health care. Four nurses, a dietician as well as a physiotherapist work at the camp clinic which is equipped to deal with all kinds of situations.

S.Q. Days For the past several years, the Sûreté du Québec organises special events at Camp Papillon during the adolescents and children’s stays. During these special days, the youngsters have the opportunity to meet police officers and to explore the numerous equipment of the S.Q. When the weather permits, a complete theme is developed around this special visit. For example, the youngsters assisted the police officers in a veritable investigation in the “Far West”, pursuing the Daltons! An enthusiastic and competent team, a vast nature-based site and out-of-the-ordinary activities, this is what Camp Papillon is all about… but none of this would exist were it not for our greatest wealth: our campers. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you at Camp Papillon very soon!

The Caravane Papillon / Nous Aidons 
Mobile Camp for children with disabilities 
The project of a mobile camp emanates from the Quebec Society for Disabled Children's strong intention to provide services to vulnerable children living in remote areas. This project comes within the framework of our objective of offering to families of children with disabilities direct and consistent support, adapted to their needs and of human dimension.

Therefore, every summer, Camp Papillon hits the road. Transformed into Caravane Papillon, tucking into its luggage the magic which, for close to 70 years has set it apart from all other specialized camps in North America. This magic is offered to some fifty children and youngsters who, because of the long distance that separates them from the Lanaudière region, cannot benefit from all that Camp Papillon can offer them in terms of challenges, activities and peals of laughter.

Caravane Papillon is an initiative of the Quebec Society for Disabled Children rendered possible thanks to the financial support from the  Nous Aidons organisation and its hundreds of members from the Quebec food industry.
